Some good advice on writing:
- embrace your own weirdness [[The ur-quote of geekdom]]
- test every rule by breaking it
- always add some mystery or intrigue to a story that is never explained to the readers, something that is not critical to the plot
- don't censor yourself [[The secret to being a writer]]
- exploit [[apophenia]] by introducing random ideas
- make the story more intimate by drawing it closer to yourself
- use as much strangeness, randomness and intimacy that you can handle right from the beginning, and trust your brain to make sense of it
