In 1994, a college student at Swarthmore named Justin Hall created a web page that featured daily entries. Before he did this, most web pages started with a table of contents. People called this new medium a web diary, because it would contain glimpses of personal life. Eventually, people took out the personal stuff, and the medium was renamed web logs. This got shortened to blogs.^[https://stackingthebricks.com/how-blogs-broke-the-web/]
