The imagination is a vestigial capability of a far more powerful and ancient way of knowing. It is a faint trace of something our ancestors were capable of. This more ancient way of knowing was killed off by a jealous and ancient god - that of objectivity and rationality Creativity scores have declined, while IQ scores have gone up. Children’s imaginations decline with each year of school. The power of the imagination can be shown in experiments that show its impact on muscles. Also the placebo effect. Our entire experience is a controlled hallucination. The brain makes predictions, and then revises those predictions based on error-correction. This means that we only experience what we expect to experience. The Gorilla experiment shows this. History of science bears this out. The proof of Einstein's theories was not based on observable data. Facts were adjusted to fit the expected theory.
