The order in which we do things is significant.
Our lives are written in DNA sequences that spell life or death.
We manipulate the world through precise sequences of muscular activation.
Sequence is all-important in mathematics and logic.
And language for that matter. We say please before an anticipated event, and thank you after an event.
Reading physical books, where we flip the pages in sequence, and can physically feel the relationship of the pages to each other, is one of the best ways to learn the importance of sequence, which is why reading a physical book to a child (and not from an iPad) is one of the most important educational activities a parent can do.
