It seems to me as if every phenomenon of memory and forgetting has the potential to become dramatized, in the way that Proust dramatized spontaneous memory.
Take, for instance, the phenomenon of [[cryptomnesia]], which is where you claim someone else's ideas as your own. Once could dramatize it through the idea of journeying. The further you travel from something, the more you forget it. The less it becomes part of you, the more you claim it as yourself. (Much as immigrants often hew more strongly to their birth culture.) How is identity shaped by distance? How important is provenance?
