#seed It is important in mathematics to use more than one method to arrive at a solution. It is a form of error correction. By testing one method against another, we are utilizing our most creative resources. This is how we avoid the Dunning Kruger effect, as described by Errol Morris: > It became known as the Dunning-Kruger Effect — our incompetence masks our ability to recognize our incompetence. Creativity is the co-mingling of DNA. It is the pairing and mapping of different domains to each other. A new language has to be invented each time. This new language becomes the DNA for new pairings. And so it goes.
